The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is expected to receive the final report of its three-member committee investigating alleged vote-buying and inducement during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primary later today.

The committee, set up by the party’s national leadership, was tasked to probe claims of financial inducements and other irregularities that emerged during the closely contested primary in the Greater Accra Region.
Sources within the party indicate that the panel has concluded its engagements with all key stakeholders, including candidates, party officials, polling agents, and other witnesses, and is currently finalising its findings for submission to the Functional Executive Committee (FEC).
The probe forms part of the NDC’s broader efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and fairness within its internal electoral processes, particularly as the party prepares for the upcoming Ayawaso East by-election.
Party officials say the recommendations contained in the report will inform any disciplinary actions or corrective measures deemed necessary to safeguard the integrity of the party’s democratic structures.
The composition of the committee was earlier adjusted after Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga stepped aside, paving the way for former Member of Parliament and Minister, Inusah Fuseini, to join the panel in the interest of impartiality.
The final report is expected to be submitted later today, after which the party is anticipated to outline its next course of action.
The Ayawaso East parliamentary primary has attracted significant national attention, with its outcome widely viewed as critical to the NDC’s chances in the forthcoming by-election.
