Ghanaian artist Okyeame Kwame has revealed that he is not formally a member of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s Manifesto Committee.

This comes after the Vice President’s campaign team announced Okyeame Kwame and actor Prince David Osei as members of the Tourism, Arts, and Culture manifesto committee.

The musician denied any political affiliation with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or any other Ghanaian political party in a press release.

In addition, Okyeame Kwame stated that he had not received any payment for his committee membership.

“I want to reassure my esteemed audience and stress that I am still apolitical and nonpartisan, just as I have been throughout my whole professional life.

He said, “I have not received payment from H.E. The Vice President’s campaign team to serve on the committee for the arts and tourism manifesto, nor have I received an official invitation to participate as a nonpartisan on my terms.”

The musician declared that he is willing to work with any other political party that wishes to benefit from his experience in the entertainment sector.

As he has been for the previous 26 years, Okyeame Kwame stated that he is still the epitome of professionalism.

“With all of my might and all of my heart, I have vowed to serve Ghana in all areas of my expertise. I’m still nonpartisan and #MadeInGhana4Life, so everyone is quite welcome, he said.

Nonetheless, he conveyed his appreciation to Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party, for acknowledging his experience and adding him to the committee.

That being said, the statement said, “With the utmost humility, I would like to express my profound gratitude to His Excellency the Vice President’s Campaign Team for considering my experience and intellect worthy enough.”
