The King of Osu, Prof. Nortse Nii Nortey Owuo IV, in the Greater Accra region, has been honored with a citation from the Municipal Education Directorate of Klottey Korle Municipal Assembly.


The citation, presented by the new Educational Director, Mr. Phillip Edu, acknowledges the King’s unwavering support for schools within his jurisdiction and beyond, ensuring quality educational opportunities for children and fostering the advancement of STEM education. Mr. Edu expressed his delight in meeting the King and commended him for his ongoing efforts to support teachers in the Osu schools. He also proposed a partnership with the King to establish a Science and Mathematics Quiz initiative in the area, a suggestion warmly received by the Osu Mantse.

In his response, the King expressed gratitude to the Director and his team for their visit, affirming his commitment to collaboration and emphasizing the accessibility of his office for future engagements.
He also shared some initiatives underway by the Stool Council to incentivize school attendance among youth and educate children about issues such as teenage pregnancy and drug abuse, which pose significant challenges in certain areas of the region.
