Parliament Reconvenes Today for Emergency Sitting

Members of Parliament are set to return to the House today for an emergency session.

The recall is in response to a petition from the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, aimed at addressing outstanding government business.

The petition, invoking Article 112(3) and Order 53 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, cites that 15 percent of the House members are sufficient to request a recall.

The Majority Caucus plans to tackle key agenda items, including the adoption of the Thirty-Fourth Report of the Appointments Committee, which involves the approval of new Ministers designated by the President, as well as deliberation on a $150 million loan facility.
