President Akufo-Addo gave this pledge while addressing at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2024 Business and Policy Leaders Dialogues hosted in Ghana at Peduase Presidential Lodge in the Akuapem Hills of the Eastern Region on the topic, “Developing Prosperity in Africa: Produce, Add, Value and Trade”.

The goal of Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2024 is to develop real strategies to assist Africans in reaching prosperity for the African continent.
Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) is this year’s event organised in partnership with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat.
Africa, according to President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, has the ability to industrialise, add value to its raw resources, and invest in social, digital, economic, and physical infrastructure that would connect people and companies across Africa in intra-African commerce.
The President noted that Africa accounts for 3% of world commerce, with intra-African trade being one of the lowest of any area internationally.“This is largely due to the Colonia economic model cultural by small individual economies fragmented and disconnected regional markets, over reliance on the export of primary commodities in the presence of low production capacities which have been well and existence”.
He went on to say that in order to promote intra-African commerce, the AfCFTA must continue to provide chances for businesses to extend beyond national boundaries, so boosting economic growth and creating more integrated growth and transcontinental continent.
He stated that Africa must increase its use of sustainable farming practices, as well as targeted investment in infrastructure for innovation and technology, particularly in agrobusiness and industry, in order to increase production while ensuring the agriculture sector’s resilience in the face of evolving global challenges and climate change.
“This Dialogues has to find ways to realized the commitment that have been made loudly and clearly to African Governments to deepened and resolved in achieving their decisions reaching the compact. It must be a representative for all sector leaders to carry Africa and ensure that, the growth target are sustainable irrespective of future global challenge. This dialogues has to examine critically responsibilities and expectations of the private sector and demand same of the public sector to achieve Africa that we want”.
President Akufo-Addo therefore, called for the need for Africans to strengthen themselves to resolve working hand in hand with governments in free and fair democratic system of Governance that promotes safe and sound legal and Institutional framework.
