The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Stephen Yenusom Wengam, has called on Christians in public service to remain steadfast in truth and integrity under all circumstances.

He made the appeal during a Thanksgiving service held in honour of the Clerk of Parliament, Mr Ebenezer Dzietror, at Jehovah Shammah Assembly of God in Accra.
The service was attended by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, among other dignitaries.
Rev Wengam reminded Ebenezer Dzietror, who is also a pastor of the Assemblies of God, that his appointment as Clerk of Parliament was “an act of God” and that divine grace and mercy would be essential for him to excel.
He urged the Clerk of Parliament to serve with absolute diligence, dedication, and commitment, emphasizing that his leadership should be marked by humility, fear of God, and holiness.
“The Bible is the supreme, real constitution of the Assemblies of God, which is currently the largest Pentecostal movement in the world. All our beliefs, rules, and practices flow from the Bible. Assemblies of God does not teach its members to go into public service and live anyhow but to follow the dictates of the Bible and the solid doctrine of the church,” Rev Wengam said.
He further stressed that Ebenezer Dzietror was not serving in his own name but representing Christ and the Assemblies of God in Parliament.
“So you must uphold the virtues of integrity, honesty, and Christlikeness,” Rev Wengam added.
In response, Ebenezer Dzietror pledged to uphold his Christian beliefs, values, and principles while executing his duties as Clerk of Parliament.
