The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested the third suspect linked to the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl at LA on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, 49-year-old Priscilla Novishie Wornyo voluntarily reported herself to the police. She was subsequently arrested and formally charged to assist with investigations.
The accused persons were arraigned before the court on Monday, January 19, 2026, facing charges including Conspiracy to Commit Assault under Section 23 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), Assault under Section 84 of Act 29, and Cruelty to a Child under Sections 14 and 15 of the Children’s Act, 1998 (Act 560).
While two of the suspects, 22-year-old Precious Giftan Mesopeh and 25-year-old Princess Giftan Mesopeh, were granted bail with two sureties each, Priscilla Novishie Wornyo was remanded in police custody and is scheduled to reappear in court on February 2, 2026.
The Accra Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting children and ensuring that all individuals involved in acts of abuse face the full rigours of the law.
“We remain dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of children and bringing perpetrators to justice,” the command said.
