About 14 construction workers have been rescued and rushed to the 37 Military Hospital and the Ridge Hospital in Accra following the collapse of a building under construction at the premises of the Architectural Engineering Group at Roman Ridge on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The victims, many of whom sustained critical injuries, were pulled from the rubble by emergency response teams from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) after hours of intense rescue efforts.

“About 14 construction workers were rescued in critical condition and transported to both 37 and Ridge Hospitals for urgent medical care.”

The scene of the collapse remained cordoned off as rescue teams continued to search through the debris for any additional victims. Eyewitnesses described the incident as terrifying, noting that the structure came down suddenly, trapping several workers who were on-site at the time.

Authorities say investigations will commence immediately after rescue operations to determine the cause of the collapse, which has left the area in shock.

Meanwhile, the GNFS has advised the public to stay away from the scene to allow emergency personnel to carry out their work efficiently.
