Korle Bu interdicts four health workers over alleged failure to treat hit-and-run victim

The Management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has interdicted two medical doctors and two nurses over their alleged failure to provide emergency care to a hit-and-run victim.

In a statement issued on Monday, February 23, 2026, hospital authorities confirmed that the decision forms part of administrative measures pending a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The Management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital wishes to announce that two medical doctors and two nurses have been interdicted following their alleged failure to provide emergency medical care to a hit-and-run victim,” the statement said.

The hospital indicated that an internal committee has been constituted in line with established procedures to conduct a thorough probe into the matter, including the events that led to the unfortunate death of the victim.

According to management, all persons connected to the case have been directed to cooperate fully with the investigative committee to ensure what it described as a fair and transparent inquiry.

“Pending the outcome of the committee’s work, the Board and Management call on all persons connected to the matter to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure a fair and transparent inquiry,” the statement added.

The hospital further assured the public of its commitment to upholding professional standards.

“The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the delivery of quality healthcare services. Further information will be communicated upon completion of the investigation,” management stated.

The interdictions follow public attention and concern over the handling of a hit-and-run case earlier this month, which reportedly resulted in the victim’s death.
