The Central Regional Police Command has arrested six juvenile students of Aggrey Memorial Senior High School in connection with the alleged assault of a final-year student of Adisadel College in Cape Coast.

The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, February 20, 2026, at about 3:30 p.m., shortly after the conclusion of an inter-colleges’ sports festival held at the Cape Coast Stadium.
According to police, the victim, identified as Rexford Owusu-Ansah, was returning to campus with two friends when they were confronted at Pedu Junction.
The suspects allegedly stopped the trio to confirm whether they were students of Adisadel College before launching the attack.
While the victim’s two friends managed to escape, Rexford was reportedly overpowered, knocked to the ground, and beaten. The suspects are also alleged to have taken his iPhone 17 Pro Max, GH¢1,400 in cash, and his shoes.
Authorities of Aggrey Memorial SHS later handed over the six students to the Kotokuraba Police Station at about 7:30 p.m. the same day.
The victim initially received treatment at the stadium clinic and was later referred to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. He was discharged on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
A police medical report indicated that he sustained a serious injury to his right eye, including nerve damage and swelling that has affected his ability to open it.
Police say the suspects are assisting with investigations, while the victim’s two friends have indicated that they are able to identify the attackers.
In a statement, the Central Regional Police Command strongly condemned the incident and assured the public that “due process will be followed and the juvenile suspects will face the full rigours of the law.”
Investigations are ongoing.
