NIB appoints Tweneboa Kodua Fokuo as Managing Director

With effect from Monday, May 13, 2024, Mr. Tweneboa Kodua Fokuo has been named the National Investment Bank‘s managing director. Mr. Fokuo succeeds Mr. Samuel Sarpong, who has been in charge of the NIB since 2019. The appointment of Mr. Fokuo was made possible by “the majority shareholder,” according to a memo distributed to Bank employees. Mr. Fokuo has the experience necessary to guide us into a prosperous future.Furthermore, Mr Philip Ofori-Asante has been proposed for the position of Deputy Managing Director, succeeding Mr Fokuo. Mr. Ofori-Asante will be joining the team soon, and we are excited about his significant banking experience.

About Fokuo Tweneboa He has extensive experience in Commercial, Corporate, and Investment Banking, as well as Country Risk Management. He has a great understanding of risk management.

Since 2008, Mr. Fokuo has been employed with Barclays Bank in Ghana, where he has had a successful financial career. He participated in the Risk Management fraternity at Barclays in a number of capacities and worked his way up to Assistant Vice President. In addition, he reported to the Group’s Country Risk Teams in Johannesburg and London as the Barclays Ghana Country Risk Champion. In January 2016, he departed from Barclays Bank, Ghana and took a position as Head of Credit Risk at First National Bank Ghana Ltd, a division of FirstRand Bank of South Africa.

Mr. Tweneboa Kodua Fokuo has an MBA in Finance from the University of Wales in the United Kingdom, an Advanced Commercial Credit Risk Certificate from the IFS School of Finance in the United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
