Ejisu Bye-election: NPP holds primary April 13, opens 3-day nomination window for April 13

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unveiled detailed plans for a parliamentary by-election in Ejisu, outlining key timelines and procedures aimed at ensuring a fair and efficient electoral process.

Approved by party officials, the decision sets in motion the opening of nominations on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, with the process concluding on Thursday, April 4th, 2024. The main election is scheduled for Saturday, April 13th, 2024.

Aspiring candidates must procure nomination forms after paying a non-refundable application fee of GHC 3,000.00. Additionally, a non-refundable filing fee of GHC 35,000.00 is required for successful nomination submission. However, women, youth, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) will benefit from a 50% rebate on filing fees.

The Election Committee (EC), chaired by notable figures such as Danquah Smith Butey and Bernard Antwi Boasiako, is entrusted with overseeing the electoral process to ensure strict adherence to established rules and regulations.

In a statement issued by Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP’s general secretary, emphasis was placed on inclusivity, with assurance that no individual would be denied access to purchase nomination forms.

This electoral endeavor follows the passing of Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, the late parliamentary representative of the party in Ejisu.
