Palestine Embassy Celebrates Palestinian-Ghanaian Day with Festive Feast and Food Distribution

The Embassy of the State of Palestine marked Palestinian-Ghanaian Day on Saturday with a joyful feast for children and the distribution of foodstuffs to families.

The beneficiaries, totalling around 180 children and 150 adults, included Muslims and Christians residing in underserved communities.

Mr. Abdalfatah A.K. Alsattari, Ambassador of the State of Palestine, stated that this annual event in Ramadan is organized to demonstrate compassion towards the vulnerable in society.

“This year’s edition was particularly dedicated to showing solidarity with Palestinians affected by the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza.” he added

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Palestinian community in Ghana for their support in making the event successful.

Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, advised Muslims ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations to maintain focus and exhibit positive attitudes.

He emphasized celebrating in moderation without engaging in reckless behavior.

Sheikh Shaibu urged individuals to use the occasion to deepen relationships, practice forgiveness, patience, and generosity. He cautioned against becoming instruments of destruction manipulated by politicians leading up to the 2024 General Election.

“Let’s be guided by integrity and respect for the sanctity of human life. We must lead the charge against corruption, violence, envy, greed, and other evils that threaten our nation,” he stressed.

Sheikh Shaibu expressed solidarity with Palestinians, encouraging them to remain hopeful in God.

He denounced global silence on injustices and urged the UN to act justly, ensuring that everyone feels the purpose of a global body capable of aiding the weak and vulnerable in society.
