The Ghana Police Service has arrested one suspect following a robbery on the Odumase-Badu road in the Bono Region, near Sunyani, at about 7pm on Tuesday, 16th April 2024.
The incident occurred during an attack on students and lecturers from the University of Energy and Natural Resources, resulting in the tragic death of a student and injuries to six others.
“The suspect, and his accomplices currently on the run, attacked and robbed students and lecturers of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) while returning from a field trip. A student, identified as Abdul Aziz Issah, sadly lost his life during the attack. Six other students who sustained minor injuries have been treated and discharged.”
The suspect’s accomplices are currently evading capture, with police conducting a manhunt to bring them to justice.
