In a significant move towards enhancing the visual appeal of public basic schools, the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced government’s plan to repaint these institutions from their current brown and yellow colors to a refreshing blue and white scheme. This strategic rebranding initiative aims to uplift the aesthetics of these schools across the nation.
During a forum titled “The Free SHS Story” in Accra on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Dr. Adutwum emphasized that this endeavor forms part of a broader strategy to revitalize basic education in Ghana, making it more visually appealing and conducive to learning.
He highlighted the government’s commitment to transform the educational landscape, stating, “We are switching to blue and white. We are painting all the schools to give them an attractive outlook. This is the transformation Ghana deserves, and it is coming.”
Additionally, the minister announced the replacement of the current brown and yellow uniforms worn by students in public basic schools. He reassured the public, stating, “We are changing the uniforms of public basic schools in the country. The yellow and brown that you see now, you will see no more. Reformation is coming to a community near you, and you will see it.”
