On Mother’s Day, May 12th, 2024, a group of MBA Corporate Communications students from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, (UPSA), demonstrated their commitment to giving back to the community. Led by Dr. Adwoa Amankwa, lecturer and Head of Department for Communications Studies, the students visited Hopeway Ministry International, a children’s home in Haatso, Dome-Kwabenya constituency, as part of their corporate social responsibility course.
The students donated various items, including food, toiletries, and educational materials, to support the home’s operations and bring joy to the children. Additionally, they presented a cash donation to support the home’s initiatives. This thoughtful gesture aimed to put smiles on the faces of the children and celebrate Mother’s Day with them.
Dr. Adwoa Amankwa emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility and giving back to the community, stating, “As future leaders and communicators, it is essential to understand the value of compassion and social responsibility. This project allowed our students to make a positive impact and experience the joy of giving.”
The students’ initiative demonstrates their commitment to making a difference in their community. Their generosity and kindness have undoubtedly made a lasting impact on the children at Hopeway Ministry International. This heartwarming event serves as a reminder of the power of compassion and the importance of giving back to those in need.
