The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has raised concerns about alleged partisan recruitment within the Electoral Commission (EC).
John Dramani Mahama claims that the appointment of known members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the EC ahead of the December elections is unacceptable and must be stopped immediately.
Addressing Christian leaders in Accra, he stated that the NDC will firmly oppose such partisan appointments.
“And so people who have been communicators for the party, people who have been IT backstops for the party, how do you expect them to be neutral and fair? For instance, our last complaint was about the recruitment of returning officers.
“You heard Hopeson Adorye on radio say that they took NPP executives from Kumawu and brought them to the Ejisu by-election as returning officers. And there are pictures of some of them who are executives.”
