The conscious and relentless efforts by everyone who matters in NPP presently, including President Akufo Addo, to disassociate Vice President Alhaji Bawumia from the abysmal and messy performance of the two-term NPP administration headed by the President and Vice President, and supported by their Cabinet, Ministers of State, and various senior advisors drawn from the party, is a rare admission by them that the NPP government of Nana Akufo Addo and Alhaji Bawumia has failed Ghanaians woefully, and the usual excuses of COVID-19 and the Russian-Ukraine war are not the factors responsible for their failure, but rather it is their gross incompetence, corruption, arrogance, and extreme greed and selfishness to amass individual wealth as against investing our taxes and the loans contracted by them prudently for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

Recently, during the party’s super-delegates congress to prune the number of their flag bearer aspirants to five, the President had cause to castigate a few of those aspirants who had criticized his government for its failures. The president reprimanded them and admonished strongly that it was very important for anyone, who was contesting an election on the ticket of NPP to own all the successes and failures of his administration. Is it not strange now that the same President is making strenuous efforts to confuse Ghanaian voters that his Vice President, Alhaji Bawumia is not responsible for any of the failures of the administration, but only responsible for seeming successes?

But fortunately, they cannot deceive Ghanaians anymore. If indeed, the reasons for the failure of the government included the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukraine war, government functionaries shall not now be struggling to absolve Alhaji Bawumia from the mess he and Nana Akufo Addo’s adminstration created, and for which many well-meaning Ghanaians have described their government as the worse in the history of Ghana.

The hard truth is that Vice President Alhaji Bawumia, as Head of the Economic Management Team, which he had touted at the beginning of their tenure as the best in the Fourth Republic, and also an integral part of Nana Akufo Addo’s administration, is absolutely responsible for the failures of the administration. This is not too difficult to understand, and all discerning Ghanaians know this.

Ghanaians are aware that Alhaji Bawumia is only the flag bearer of the NPP because Nana Akufo Addo wanted him to be. Without Nana Addo as President on NPP’s ticket, there would not have been Vice President Bawumia, and there would not have been an NPP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Bawumia. Everyone knows that Alhaji Bawumia owes all that he has achieved in politics to Nana Akufo Addo, who was prepared to see NPP disintegrate in order for Alhaji Bawumia to lead the party. Clearly, Alhaji Bawumia, as President, would do anything Nana Akufo Addo would want. Simply put, the election of Alhaji Bawumia shall be the election of Nana Akufo Addo for a third term consecutive term. This must never happen, and it shall never happen.
