NPP holds Ejisu Parliamentary Primary Today

Today, Saturday, April 13, 2024, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to conduct the parliamentary primary in the Ejisu Constituency to nominate a candidate for the upcoming by-election.

This primary follows the unfortunate passing of the late MP John Kumah on March 7, 2024. All nine aspirants seeking to contest in the party’s parliamentary primary in the Ejisu Constituency were cleared by the vetting committee on April 6.

On Thursday, April 4, these nine individuals picked up forms to contest in the NPP parliamentary primary for the Ejisu constituency, as the party opened nominations on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled April 30, 2024, for the by-election to fill the vacant seat left by the 45-year-old MP, who passed away after a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.

As of now, no other political party has expressed interest in the by-election. The National Democratic Congress has stated that it is still deliberating whether to participate in the by-election.
