NPP Parliamentary Primary: Voting in Progress in Ejisu

Voting is currently underway to select a new Member of Parliament for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
Approximately 1,081 delegates are expected to participate in the election, aimed at choosing a new parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the Ejisu by-election, prompted by the untimely passing of Dr. John Kumah.

Dr. John Kumah, aged 45, who previously served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, tragically succumbed to a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.

All nine individuals aspiring to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primary in the constituency have received approval from the vetting committee.

In a notable development, the main opposition National Democratic Congress and the All People’s Congress (APC) have both announced their decision not to field candidates for the upcoming Ejisu by-election, scheduled for Tuesday, April 30.
