Kasoa: Alleged soldier killer not National Security operative

The suspect involved in the tragic killing of a soldier amidst a land dispute at Millennium City, Kasoa, is not employed by the National Security, according to an official statement.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the police have identified the suspect, Benlord Ababio, as the individual who allegedly shot the soldier at Millennium City, Kasoa, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at approximately 4:20 pm.

Initial reports had suggested that the suspect was a staff member of the National Security. However, a statement issued by the Ministry of National Security on Wednesday, May 1, clarified this misconception.

“The Ministry wishes to put on record that the suspect, Benlord Ababio, who’s currently in police custody, is not a staff of the Ministry of National Security.”

“The public is therefore urged to disregard any news item that portrays the suspect as a staff of the Ministry of National Security,” the statement emphasized.
