If rent is pricey in Ghana, try Canada—Hawa Koomson to Ghanaians.

The minister for fisheries and aquaculture development urged Ghanaians to be thankful to the government for their economic achievements thus far.

She discussed her recent trip to Canada, noting that it was significantly more costly than Ghana to rent even a single room, which cost more than 2,000 Canadian dollars per month.

“People have been complaining that rent is expensive in Ghana. They should go to Canada. For a month, you pay over 2,000 Canadian dollars. That’s for a single room, not even a chamber and hall.

“Things are hard now, and there is a high cost of living everywhere, and when you compare Ghana to other countries, Ghana is doing far better,” she said.

In response to allegations that living conditions in Canada were better than in Ghana, Hawa Koomson denied that living costs in Canada are significantly higher.
Despite the global economic downturn, she claimed that Ghana remains competitively priced. According to her, this is the result of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government’s good economic policies and efforts.
