Ghanaian students showcased their academic prowess by sweeping the top honors at the 2023 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) International Excellence Awards.
The distinguished award recipients are St. James Seminary Senior High School’s Amo-Kodieh Leonard Kofi Marton claimed the title of Overall Best Student, followed by Labone Senior High School’s Dzandu Selorm in second place and Daniel Asenso-Gyambibi from St. James Seminary Senior High School in third place.
The 72nd Annual Council Meeting was held in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, this historic achievement marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s academic landscape.
The International Excellence Awards for WASCCE for School Candidates stand as a testament to the highest echelons of academic brilliance, honoring the most exceptional candidates from member countries partaking in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). These member nations include the Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Ghana.
